Heidi Beck grew up in the small town of Gilmanton, New Hampshire. Before emigrating to the UK in 1998, she lived in Claremont, CA (Pomona College), Chicago, IL, and Falls Church, VA. She now lives between Bristol, UK, and São Bras de Alportel in Portugal.
Heidi holds an MA in English Literature (University of Chicago) and an MA in Creative Writing (Bath Spa University). She has worked as a tour guide, data analyst and assistant zookeeper.
Heidi’s poems have been published widely in journals, including Rialto, Magma, Poetry Ireland Review, The North and Butcher’s Dog. For a full list, please visit the Publications page. In 2020 she was longlisted in the National Poetry Competition.
